Core landed cost
Goods value: sellable units × supplier price per unit × supplier-currency-to-USD conversion. FX uses a dated reference rate when available or an explicitly manual value.
Duty: entered customs value × (entered ad-valorem duty percentage + optional additional percentage). This cannot model specific per-unit duties, tariff-rate quotas, special combined rates or all trade remedies.
Import tax: for countries where modeled, entered taxable base = customs value + modeled duty + separately entered applicable taxable charges. The rate is user-supplied, and actual tax valuation may follow a different jurisdictional formula.
Gross landed cash cost: goods + international freight + applicable duties/import tax + insurance + customs clearance + origin and local delivery + FBA inbound/prep costs. Avoid double counting any charges already included in the customs value, quoted transport or seller invoice.
Cost per unit: gross cash cost ÷ positive sellable units. Potential recovery of input VAT/GST is a separate scenario only, never an assumed legal entitlement.
Freight & package dimensions
CBM = cartons × length × width × height (centimeters) ÷ 1,000,000. Gross mass = cartons × kg per carton. Illustrative air volumetric kg = centimeters-cubed ÷ 6,000. Actual carrier chargeable-weight rules and rounding may differ. Ocean LCL weight/measurement (W/M) is shown for comparison, not a binding billable figure.
Incomplete inputs
A missing freight quote, missing duty rate or missing tax rate is not equal to zero. The complete total is withheld until required values are entered; a known subtotal may still be displayed for planning.
Why no automatic tariff lookup?
HS classification must account for national extensions, product composition and use, country of origin, applicable measures, customs valuation, exemptions and importer circumstances. A generic product category does not determine a legally reliable duty rate. For official portals visit Sources.
Scope
The principal worksheet handles one SKU/tariff line at a time, and does not automatically incorporate Amazon outbound FBA fulfillment, referral fees, subscription fees or storage. No estimates constitute legal, customs, financial or professional advice; they are for preliminary budgeting.
